Twilight after Rain

We have had some really heavy downpours over the last few days, but the garden has rewarded me with some lovely lush photos. Taken last evening about 9-00.

Actually a view of the summer house but you wouldn’t know it . An unnamed Acer in the background, Hemerocallis citrina very fragrant, and Filipendula ulmaria ‘Aurea’, with a dierama to follow later in the summer.

The rill that joins the two ponds, looks like a river but it’s only about 40 cms wide.

A wallflower linking with the Papaver rupifragrum ‘flora plena’, Plant World seeds.

Lady watching over the fish in the top pond.

Astrantia ‘Shaggy’, ‘Roma’, and Heuchera ‘Greenfinch’, under the sundial.

Heuchera, Iris Sibirica, and Euphorbia with a resent addition of a mixed lettuce edging, probably going to be snail food !

Hope you all have a good Bank Holiday weekend and manage to get out in your gardens……

  1. Everything looks lush and beautiful, and I really love the water shots. I’ve been outside in between showers and have been able to accomplish quite a bit of maintenance.

  3. It all looks so lush and tall! I like the Hemerocallis, I have tall orange but only shortish yellow. I hope you’re having a great Bank Holiday!

  4. Yes, your garden looks great. Was interested to try and pick out your heuchera.. I got one with purplish leaves recently and it is just starting to bloom. Do the flowers grow tall?

  5. Looking really lush. As you say the snails will be delighted with your lettuce edging. Are the white flowers in the last shot Heuchera? D.

  6. Everything is beautiful, Sue. What a wonderful haven you’ve created. It must be wonderful to sit by the pond and admire all you’ve created…..The Siberian Iris is stunning, Did the camera capture the true color? I have a friend who has low sun in her yard and she loves blue flowers……I hope you’re enjoying your Holiday.
