It’s been very warm of late, little rain and hot days leading to a very dry garden. I have resorted to the hosepipe on a couple of occasions, mainly in the White Garden as it also contains a boggy bit that also needed a bit of a top up.
The Hot Border is in semi shade for the majority of the day and this has helped no end. All seems to be working well. Another year will see it knit together nicely.

Is the Bomarea in your greenhouse? Surely not hardy? It’s gorgeous. You have lots of lovely July flowers. I like Hydrangea for its big felty leaves just as much as for its flowers.

Well. I grew it from seed, ‘plant world’ in 2011 and it’s in a large pot…..I was hoping to put it permanently in the garden, but I am a little scared…..the hydrangea is another freeby, a cutting from an old friend now died. This will be it’s first year of flowering….phew….

We have just had a sudden downpour here and i had to rush outside
and do a little welcome dance – unfortunately it stopped as suddenly as it started! Your hot border must be looking quite hot now – how big are your helenium clumps? I struggle to establish them for some reason. That hemerocallis is a gorgeous shade – as of course is Lucifer even if he does too easily get a foothold 🙂

Hi, the heleniums are about 30/40 cms across and about 5 yrs old …..and the lucifer is all at the back of the border and can please its self there, although it does throw out a few seedlings else where but they just get moved or dumped…..Malc says there was a short shower about 11 last night, after the football.
